Non-Valentine's Day blog
Obviously I wrote this yesterday, but didn't put it up.
I have finally started to look at apartments. I now cannot get it off of my mind. I've somewhat narrowed it down to three, but it really will just depend on the cost. The place I really want to get into is very small from what a co-worker said so I might have to think about getting the two bedroom version. It's all about weighing the pros and cons and right now the slightly more expensive, but less space is looking very good. It has everything we want plus some extras, things I never knew were extra like dishwashers and garbage disposals, and it is decently close to both work places! I'm talking like 15 minutes drive probably! The closest I've ever worked was 10 minutes from my house, but the downside was that I hated working there...even more so then when I worked for a boss who was always on drugs. (Yes, I am talking about pot and crack.)
With the help of a co-worker now know of some spots in decent/good areas in the city we want to live in. From the floor plans and pictures the place I like the most would be a good spot. I know I'm just going to die though on the size of the apartments. Even though we don't have a lot of furniture the pieces we do have are of a larger size. I am going to just die. I've always had a lot of room and this is a huge shock for me. Now I'm just depressing myself thinking about being crammed into a small apartment. I always thought it wouldn't be that bad since it's just two of us, but after looking at the floor plans I was SO wrong. We'd need 2 bedrooms for a perfect fit, but that's still a lot more money considering I want to save for a house while in an apartment. It's still unclear exactly how much I will get when my mom sells her house and I don't want to count on money I don't have in my hands.
The only thing set is that I want to move on the 22nd of March. I already have two days off and it would really be perfect. It would give us, well me, 4 days to get everything unpacked and put into place. On the bright side all of the ones I was looking at come with Kitchen appliances! /cheer /clap This means we can sell/get rid of the stuff we already have, not it's worth very much.
Bleh, now I'm stressing myself out since I only have a little over a month to find a place, get packed and make sure the moving company I plan on using can help me! BLARG! A co-worker offered to help me move, but I'd rather pay for a moving company to do it. The company I plan on moving is where the co-worker who's been helping me husband works so I know they will do a good job that and I was not born for free manual labor so I'd be out for helping them. Some people are and some aren't. I wasn't raised that way and figured it's good to give people who have those sorts of jobs my business when possible. :)
eek ya we were in that spot last yr. we signed the lease the day before we moved, 2 days before we had to be out completely! we're about to have to do it again...ugh!
good luck!
